Ceramic foundry sand, also known as electric fused ceramic grain, ceramic grain sand, or jewelry sand, has the advantages of high temperature resistance, non crushing, dust-free, spherical, high breathability, good filling ability, and no harm from silicon dust. It is a green and environmentally friendly sand for casting.
The advantage of quartz sand is its wide distribution and low cost; But its drawbacks are also quite obvious: firstly, it has a large coefficient of expansion and low casting accuracy; The second issue is severe sand sticking on the surface of castings, making it difficult to remove sand. The reason behind this is that quartz generates various homogeneous and heterogeneous crystals at different temperatures, resulting in significant volume changes; Due to the limitation of fire resistance (quartz sand has a fire resistance between 1400 and 1700 ℃), local areas of the casting (such as holes, grooves, and areas with concentrated hot spots) are prone to severe sand sticking, making cleaning extremely difficult. The above drawbacks are particularly severe in the production of large steel castings.
Ceramic foundry sand can overcome these shortcomings and greatly improve the quality of castings.
Ceramic foundry sand is made from high-quality bauxite as raw material through processes such as calcination, electric melting, granulation, and screening.
At present, ceramic foundry sand is widely used in resin sand (furan resin, phenolic resin), water glass sand (organic fat, CO2 hardened), and coated sand. Suitable for various metal castings, such as carbon steel, alloy steel (high manganese steel, high chromium cast iron), cast iron, cast copper, etc.

7.When an accident occurs in the smelting process and a power failure occurs for a period of time, an insulating hard shell will be formed on the surface of the molten liquid.
Facing this situation, the double electrode DC furnace can start arc smelting again by adding arc striking materials such as coke at the bottom of the electrode.
