Silicon aluminum barium alloy is a composite iron alloy variety composed of cabinet, aluminum, barium, and iron elements. It is a new type of composite deoxidizer and desulfurizer widely used in the industry in recent years. It can replace the expensive metal aluminum, increase the absorption rate in steel, reduce the sulfur content in steel, improve the properties of steel, and reduce steelmaking costs. Due to the formation of corresponding inclusions in the deoxygenation products of silicon and aluminum, it is easy to exclude them from the steel liquid, thus producing high-quality steel with high purity and good quality. Therefore, silicon aluminum barium alloys will be widely used in the steelmaking industry.
At present, the industry mostly uses the hot blending method to produce silicon aluminum barium alloy, which is made by refining pure aluminum, silicon iron, and iron filings in a DC submerged Arc Furnace . Alternatively, it can be made by refining high barium silicon barium iron alloy with aluminum in a DC submerged arc furnace . Although this process method is simple, it is relatively expensive due to the use of pure aluminum and ferrosilicon as raw materials. The direct smelting of silicon aluminum barium alloy using carbon thermal method can significantly reduce production costs.
The raw materials for the production of silicon aluminum barium alloy by carbon thermal method include oil silica, bauxite, barium ore, coke, bituminous coal, and steel shavings. Putting raw materials into a submerged arc furnace for smelting, the process is easy to control, and the furnace has good operability.

7.When an accident occurs in the smelting process and a power failure occurs for a period of time, an insulating hard shell will be formed on the surface of the molten liquid.
Facing this situation, the double electrode DC furnace can start arc smelting again by adding arc striking materials such as coke at the bottom of the electrode.
