White corundum is made from industrial aluminum oxide powder and melted at high temperatures. It is white in color, slightly higher in hardness than brown corundum, and slightly lower in toughness. The grinding tools made with it are suitable for grinding high carbon steel, high-speed steel, and quenched steel. It can also be used for grinding and polishing materials, as well as precision casting sand, spraying materials, chemical catalysts, special ceramics, advanced refractory materials, etc.
Electromelted white corundum is a white fused block made from industrial aluminum oxide powder, which is essentially a result of cooling and recrystallization of industrial aluminum oxide powder after melting. The composition of the fused aluminum oxide is over 99%. The aluminum oxide content in the raw material industry is above 98.5%. Although there is a process of removing impurities during the smelting process, the removal is limited. Due to the different melting points of impurities, they are enriched in the upper part of the melt, cooled, and removed through material selection, resulting in an alumina content of over 99% in the product. Its impurities are small amounts of sodium oxide, silicon oxide, and trace amounts of iron oxide impurities.
